The Art of Mini Machines
Mini Machines began in June 2021 with the goal of creating something unique that blended the mechanical with a touch of cuteness. The idea stemmed from my childhood memories of watching goldfish swim peacefully, constantly looking at you, wanting to be fed. This behavior inspired the concept of a wind-up, robotic pet goldfish, as just like the goldfish needed your attention, the wind-up dial required assistance to keep it moving. After brainstorming several concepts, I decided to pursue this idea. Drawing inspiration from the sleek, futuristic vibes of Japanese anime, I designed a series with three variations, each featuring upgradeable parts like batteries, badges, and aesthetic elements. It became an engineering challenge, as the parts had to look authentic while being movable. The project is reminiscent of the world of modified cars, where customization makes everything even cooler.
